According to Insider, local police arrested event planner Iffy Khan after the video featuring him jumping in front of a train went viral.

Khan took the video down immediately after.

The police then investigated Khan for trespassing and being a public nuisance.

Furthermore, the TikTok influencer also received multiple charges for staging his own death.

Charges include committing an act to endanger his own life and spreading messages to incite a disturbance online.

In the video, Iffy, real name Irfan Khan, showed him standing in the middle of a railway track looking distraught.

Nearing the end of the video, it cuts to a snapshot of Khan lying “dead” in the middle of the tracks.

Consequently, the video went viral in no time. Khan uploaded the stunt to his 44k+ followers on Instagram.

However, the police caught wind of his stunt and arrested the influencer last July 25 in his Mumbai home.

“Khan claimed that he created the video to increase his followers,” Bandra police inspector Devidas Aranye told local news.

On the other hand, Khan opened up and owned up to his mistakes.

“I made it for entertainment purposes,” Khan told Vice.

“My intention was never bad or to encourage people to (commit) suicide,” he continued.
