Police are still looking for the Bernheim Palace’s solid gold toilet that was stolen on September 14 last year. The toilet is amounting between $5 Million and $6 Million.

The toilet titled “America” was part of the solo exhibition titled “Victory is not an option” by Italian artist Maurizio Cattelan which ran from September to October last year.

Visitors may book three-minute slots to use the fully functioning 18-karat gold toilet.

Authorities from the Thames Valley Police Department reported that the 66-year-old man was already in custody for the crime.

Detective Inspector Jess Milne said the heist involves a “group of offenders” who ran away using two vehicles.

Meanwhile, Blenheim Palace’s CEO Dominic Hare said it happened in a “very fast smash-and-grab raid.”

However, others speculates the theft was part of the exhibit and aims to deliberately destroy the work, similar to the prank orchestrated by street artist Banksy.

The Girl With Balloon artwork went through a shredder at the moment of its auction sale.

The conceptual artist said the art was really missing and “wished” it was just a prank.

“America” is still missing since the raid, leading to fears that it will be melted down.
