Reports said the brothers came home with no cake for the birthday party after throwing the two-pound cake at the animal chasing while they’re on their way home.

Authorities said Firoz and Sabir Mansuri were on their way home in early July this year to celebrate the birthday party of Firoz’s son when the leopard appeared from a sugarcane field in Madhya Pradesh’s Burhanpur.

They tried to run their vehicle faster but the leopard gained on them despite the muddy path. This left Sabir to cling on to the last option of smacking the birthday cake at the predator’s face.

After getting hit by the cake, the feline gave up and went back to the fields – and without even trying to eat the cake, reports said.

“The leopard followed us for over 500 meters (yards). We narrowly escaped death,” Mr. Sabir said.
