According to Mashable, Ken greeted its customers while selling roasted sweet potatoes at “Dog’s Roasted Sweet Potato Stand”.

Ken’s owner and the man behind the roasted sweet potato stand posted on Instagram that the dog fell ill at the beginning of the month.

He also reassured their regular customers and fans that the Shiba Inu would undergo medical treatment to get his health back on track.

However, on June 5, Ken returned home with an “oxygen house” because it hadn’t fully recovered yet.

The final update came the next day, June 6, that Ken passed away at 12:50 pm and went to his “favorite sweet potato shop”.

That very next day saw the owner posting on Instagram thanking the locals for their support and collective concern.

Eventually, the post also reached Twitter and garnered 8,100 likes and 2,500 retweets.

According to their website, Ken started working at the age of two and soon became famous among Sapporo locals and tourists when a Twitter post went viral in March 2019.

Ken began selling roasted sweet potatoes to the elderly before the business became a success.

The Shiba Inu dog continued to stay a dutiful employee for the “zero hourly wage” job since then.
