A “dead woman” in India walked into a local police station to file against her family members. The police said the relatives already confirmed the woman as dead.

According to the Gulf News report, the dead woman identified as Warisha went to a police station in Uttar Pradesh in early August this year. She said her family tried to falsely implicate her in-laws in a dowry case.

The police said they were just registering her case after her mother and brother reported the case of her death.

Last July 27, the police found a woman’s body stuffed in a suitcase. They shared photographs on social media as part of an identification drive.

Her mother Bundu and brother Ismail identified the victim as 24-year-old Warisha. The mother told the police her daughter Warisha went missing from her in-law’s house in Bulandshahr last July 23.

Later on, they took the body to Aligarh, where the burial took place last July 29.

However, the police were stunned when the identified “dead woman” went to the police and narrated her story.

The police said her statement will be recorded in the presence of a magistrate and they will investigate her disappearance.

The suspects of the case will have to face charges for murder and destruction of evidence.
