A Filipino girl recently went viral after food delivery service Foodpanda sent 42 riders to her home as a result of an in-app glitch.

According to Mashable, a girl from Cebu City made an order of chicken cutlets through Foodpanda turned complicated due to an error.

The seven-year-old lives with her grandmother. Her parents left her a smartphone so she can get food hassle-free.

In a similar report on SunStar Cebu, the glitch was a first for her upon ordering online. In fact, she often had food delivered to her and grandma with no issues at all.

However, her slow internet connection caused the app to behave erratically, unknowingly ordering chicken cutlets 42 times last Wednesday.

Soon enough, 42 Foodpanda riders arrived outside her home, all carrying the same order of chicken fillet, with rice and french fries.

Moreover, what would have initially cost US$3.93 (PHP189) ballooned to a whopping US$165.06 (PHP7,945.25).

According to her neighbor, Dann Kayne Suarez, the seven-year-old looked frightened and upset when the riders showed up at her house.

“The child cried. I pity her because she did not know what had happened,” Suarez said.

Thankfully, neighbors in the area helped the poor kid by buying most of the excess orders from the Foodpanda riders.
