A floating house in Massachusetts, United States is gaining attention among users on social media.

According to news agency United Press International, the unusual property has been listed for $275,000.

The house, called Tapestry, measures 1,800-square feet with three bedrooms and two bathrooms.

According to the listing agent, the future buyer has to move the floating house from the Fairhaven Shipyard.

“The person who lives in it currently works at the shipyard. It’s not going to be able to stay at the shipyard,” said Jan MacGregor.

The listing states that the new owner can transport it to another marina or to a plot of land if he/she found a suitable spot.

Over in Japan, photos of a so-called “mushroom house” in Japan are leaving netizens scratching their heads in disbelief.

According to various news reports online, Twitter user Yuko Mohri posted the viral images.

The post has collected over 20,000 shares on the popular social network alone.

They show what looks like a one-story house perched on a very narrow concrete staircase.

Such structure would raise a few eyebrows anywhere in the world, but even more in the Japan where powerful earthquakes occur fairly often.
