A distressed coyote is now healing at the Florida refuge after the rescue teams spent days looking for it to lift a huge plastic tub that was trapped over his head.

WILD Florida Rescue Community said on Facebook that it took four days to find the coyote after its neck got stuck in an Utz sourdough pretzel.

According to WILD Florida rescuers, they spent an entire day in the Indian River County searching for the animal. Looking at its condition now, it will only take around 48 hours or less before it could die from suffocation.

“We’re on a thin line but won’t quit trying,” WILD Florida Rescue said.

The presence of a plastic tub around the coyote’s neck could be really dangerous. Aside from it prevents the coyote to eat and drink, it is also not able to breathe easily.

Fortunately, the rescuers removed the tub successfully and the coyote has its second chance at life. The authorities brought it to the Busch Wildlife Sanctuary to treat its wounds around its neck.

The rescuers say it will only take quite some time for the coyote to recover. Once it has fully healed, it can soon go back to the wild.
