Recent findings show India as the leading country in Asia with the most sugar daddies.

According to a leading leading sugar dating site SeekingArrangement, the second most populous country in the world, recorded 338,000 sugar daddies in the country. 

Forbes reported that users of the sugar dating app in the country grow by 158% between 2019 and 2020. This is a possible result of the country’s increasing unemployment rate.

Indonesia ranks second in the list, with 60,250 sugar daddies. Meanwhile, Malaysia makes it to the third spot with 42,500.

Sugar dating, as the media outlet defines, is a consensual relationship between a sugar baby and sugar daddy/momma. The terms are clear and laid out, with payment in return for favor. Requests include being a mentee, a confidante, or even for sex.

The sugar dating site later on revealed there are a total of 1.6 million sugar daddies in all the Asian countries, except China, which doesn’t use the website. Further, 61% of which belongs to India.

Meanwhile, the study suggests that inequality, high unemployment and growing wealth of billionaires during the COVID-19 lockdown. This made the sugar dating a popular affair in the Asian region.

Further, SeekingArrangement Founder and CEO Brandon Wade  said in a statement: “A platform like this helps connect young and empowered women with wealthier, more affluent men.  

“They don’t not only bolster their financial woes, but also act as a mentor or gateway in catapulting a promising future for these sugar babies.”
