A man from the central part of China could not believe he found his lost car for eight years after receiving a call from an establishment to move it.

According to the Global News report, the man, identified as Mr. Yang was a local car rental company in Henan Province. He said he lost his car in 2012.

In an interview, Mr. Yang said he rented it to one of his customers. Later on, his customer sold it to other people and used the car as a mortgage at a low price.

Mr. Yang did not have any knowledge about the incident and his customer until he reported it to the local police station. He said he was not able to locate his car as it did not have an installed GPS.

The local police said the suspect was also involved in three other cases. He deliberately transfers cars he rented out from rental companies. Further, the two cars were tracked down, while Mr. Yang’s lost car was the only one left.

Meanwhile, netizens from the Chinese microblogging platform Sina Weibo expressed their happiness to Mr. Yang. Other commenters even joked that the car is probably just a pile of scrap metal now.

“The car owner probably feels like someone who has got back his beeper, which can no longer be used,” said in one of the comments.
