A man from Michigan, United States drove away from the gas station with the pump still hanging out of his tank.

According to news agency United Press International, he just won a $1 million jackpot from scratch-off lottery.

The 59-year-old player bought a Winning Millions ticket from the Speedway station in Fenton.

He then decided to scratch it off while filling his car with fuel at a gas station.

“When I saw I matched the number 14 and then revealed the $1 million amount underneath, I started yelling,” he said.

The man said his excitement at revealing the $1 million prize made him leave the station immediately.

Meanwhile, a woman from South Carolina won the lottery while filling up her gas tank.

According to various news reports online, she bought a scratch-off ticket to help pass the time.

That lucky ticket ended her winning a $125,000 top prize in the South Carolina Education Lottery.

“I was hoping to win enough to go out to dinner. But I took that ticket straight home,” the player said.

The winner said she ended up asking the woman at the next gas pump to take a second look to confirm.
