A Malaysian kid recently went viral on social media after he posted an advertisement for a “very special” durian.

According to Mashable Southeast Asia, Malaysian dude Wan Mahussin Wan Zain charges US$118 (RM500) for his durian.

“It never touched the ground,” he claims in the viral Twitter video.

Further into the video, Wan introduces his viewers to his special durian.

As it continues, he also points to the tree his durian fell from, which is right across his house.

And when he starts telling the reason why it costs that much money, he said it barely missed the net.

Clearly this already sets the smelly and thorny fruit apart from the rest.

Next, the camera moves and shows his car’s shattered rear windshield.

Indeed, this is what Wan meant when he said it never touched the ground.

It sounds like a joke, right? Just you wait for what happens next.

Wan actually never thought that someone would take his offer seriously–until the Minister of Human Resources called his number.

“I couldn’t believe that it was the Human Resources Minister calling, and he said that he wanted to buy that durian,” Wan said.

“But I told him that it was not possible as I had eaten the durian,” he continued.

All kidding aside, marketers and ad people should really learn from Wan about simple and honest marketing.
