A man discovered a tourist’s lost iPhone using his metal detector to hunt for treasure at a Florida beach.

According to news agency United Press International, his metal detector alerted to something in the sand.

“I put my scoop in, pulled it up and there was an iPhone sitting in my scoop,” Joe Lynch said.

In an interview, he said he flipped the phone over and realized that it still works fine.

Lynch used the emergency contact button to connect with the owner’s sister in Michigan, United States.

Lacy Moulton, a tourist visiting Fort Myers Beach, said she had lost her iPhone in the water the night before.

Moulton said she never expected to see it again, so it was a surprise to learn he found it.

Meanwhile, a man from Taiwan reunited with his iPhone he dropped into a lake while paddle boarding.

According to various news reports posted on social media, the incident happened last year.

The phone’s owner only identified on social media as Chen said his phone suprisingly still works.

He said he put it in a waterproof case that he wore around his neck when the chain came loose.
