A man from Virginia, U.S. won a $1 million lottery jackpot because of his mother’s Christmas scavenger hunt.

According to news agency United Press International, Tyler Fitzgerald received a scratch-off ticket as a prize.

Under the rules, whoever found the special ornament hidden on the Christmas tree would receive the token.

The lucky man, named Tyler Fitzgerald, scratched the ticket right away while his family watched.

The ticket turned out to contain some extra Christmas magic and won Fitzgerald a $1 million prize.

“I never win on these things. It was pretty crazy,” Fitzgerald recalled in an interview after his win.

Over in Missouri, a woman won $1 million jackpot in scratch-off lottery ticket with the help of her son.

According to various reports online, the kid gave the tickets to her as a Christmas present.

The lucky woman, named Trisha Miller, won some small amounts then asked her son to use the money for more tickets.

The tickets he brought back to her included a $10 MAX-A-MILLION scratch-off that earned her a $1 million jackpot prize.

“I always want to help my kids as much as I can. All my kids are super happy,” Miller told lottery officials.
