In a Times of India report, the bachelor, 60, died at his home in a village in rural Patna. The police said he aleady has no living relatives.

A neighbor told the local media that he was of humble nature, who always helped others. “They looked inside to find him dead. He used to work for anyone who offered him some work. He had gathered a good amount of money.”

When they checked on him last January 6 at around 6AM, there was no movement in his hut.

When his neighbors found out he was dead, they searched his house for money to cremate him. However, they did not find any money or valuables except for a passbook with ₹1,17,298.

They took the man’s body to the bank for them to withdraw the money. They said they will use the money for his funeral.

And since the deceased did not name any nominee, bank officials said they just cannot release the money.
