New Mexico Balloon Festival Breaks World RECORD

A hot air balloon festival in New Mexico broke a Guinness World Record for launching 524 balloons at the same time.

According to news agency United Press International, they originally set the record for greatest mass hot air balloon ascent in 2010.

But a French event that featured more than 400 balloons took the record the following year.

Paul Smith, executive director, said they may have broken the record unintentionally in 2019 with 524 balloons.

Tom Garrity, a spokesman for the festival, said the record-keeping organization approved their application.

The 2021 Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta is scheduled to begin on October 2.

Meanwhile, a museum in Germany has broken a record for using a model train and nearly 3,000 glasses of water.

According to various news rpeorts online, it played a total of 2,840 notes of classical music.

The team behind the project took a good advantage of the museum’s months-long closure due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Frederik Braun, founder of the Miniatur Wunderland museum, said thet set up a model train with 2,840 wine glasses.

The train then played 2,840 notes of classical music, including Johann Strauss’s Radetzky March.
