According to The Huffington Post, Hilton turned fact-checker for a hot minute and addressed the issue on TikTok last Monday.

“Don’t believe everything you read,” said the hotel heiress.

“I never wore that shirt,” she continued.

Moreover, the reality TV star and DJ added, “This was completely Photoshopped, everyone thinks it’s real but that’s not the truth.”

She then went on to end the infamous myth and explained the shirt actually read “Stop Being Desperate”.

So, what exactly sparked the controversy involving our favorite blonde socialite?

The viral photo first made its rounds on Tumblr in 2013 prior to becoming a famous internet meme.

According to KnowYourMeme, a website that archives memes since its inception, a Tumblr user edited the photo.

The user replaced “Desperate” with “Poor” on Hilton’s fitting white tank at a fashion event led by her sister, Nicky.

On a lighter note, Hilton earlier announced her engagement to boyfriend Carter Reum on her 40th birthday last February.

Hilton and Reum have been dating since late 2019. Reum is a venture capitalist and investor.

At 19, Paris Hilton started as a model before starring on the hit series The Simple Life with Nicole Richie.

Paris Hilton is the daughter of Richard Hilton, co-founder of Hilton & Hyland real estate in Beverly Hills, California.
