Restaurant Customer Leaves $10,000 TIP for Staff

A generous customer at a restaurant in Florida, United States left a whopping $10,000 tip.

According to news agency United Press International, the Wahoo Seafood Grill in Gainesville shared it on Instagram.

It said a recent customer asked to speak with the eatery’s entire staff during a recent visit.

The workers then gathered in the dining area, where the man “thanked them for showing up and working hard.”

The customer also announced that he will give a tip for each of the 10 workers $1,000.

“I’m not usually an emotional guy, but this really got me. I’m blown away,” owner Shawn Shepherd wrote in the post.

Meanwhile, a server at a restaurant in Ohio, United States received a $2,021 tip from two customers.

According to various news reports online, the diners bonded with their server over a shared grief.

They told the worker, named Tanya, they were both widows who did not cook for themselves very often anymore.

“Tanya could relate to them, because she lost her husband,” said Rebecca Riemer, a marketing coordinator.

With this, the two women, whose bill totaled $100.21, left Tanya a whopping $2,021 tip.
