A local lake in a city in Minnesota, United States houses several goldfish up to 18 inches long in length.

According to news agency United Press International, the city of Burnsville shared photos of the massive fish.

“Please don’t release your pet goldfish into ponds and lakes! They grow bigger than you think,” the city tweeted.

Officials said they found 10 fish, measuring up to a foot long, during the survey in the lake.

They added that a second survey resulted in finding 18 more goldfish, weighing in at 4 pounds.

“Most of them were definitely bigger than you’d find in your typical aquarium,” the city’s natural resources manager said.

Meanwhile, an angler from Virginia, United States set a new record across the state for fishing.

According to various news reports posted online, he landed a 3-pound, 9-ounce goldfish in a creek.

The Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources said Jeremy Fortner caught the giant fish in Hunting Creek.

The angler caught the 16-inch-long goldfish while fishing in a tributary of the Potomac River.

Green Top Sporting Goods then officially weighed the fish, which came in at 3 pounds, 9 ounces.
