Animal services officers in Iowa, United States responded to an apartment complex with suspected alligator on the loose.

According to news agency United Press International, they found a life-sized plush toy instead.

A large reptile resting in the parking lot startled Residents of a Des Moines apartment complex,” the Animal Rescue League said.

“They immediately reported it and waited anxiously until our Animal Services Officer arrived.

The alleged alligator in the apartment complex, however, turned out as a 4-foot-long plush toy.

Meanwhile, authorities who responded to a suspected alligator attack also discovered a fearsome-looking inflatable pool toy/

According to various news reports online, a woman called 911 to report that she saw a big alligator in a storage shed.

“My husband went to the storage garage and there’s an alligator locked in there,” the woman said during the call.

Deputy Mark Texler immediately went to the area where he discovered a toy instead of an actual reptile.

“The gator turned out as a pool toy floatie,” the police department shared on Twitter.

The tweet has amused a lot of netizens on the social media platform, collecting hundreds of likes and shares.
