A Powerball ticket forgotten in a wallet for three weeks turned out as a $1 million winner.

According to news agency United Press International, the incident left Fredderick Russell Carroll shocked.

Carrol said he purchased his Powerball ticket from the Shri Sharda Petroleum gas station in Coats.

“Me and my son’re together and we decided just to give it a shot and buy one,” he said.

Carroll said he then put his ticket into his wallet, where it ended up being forgotten.

“I’ve been all over the place and I had a million dollars in my pocket,” he told reporters in an interview.

Carroll scanned the ticket at a convenience store three weeks after he bought it.

A store clerk in Michigan, United States talked a man into buying a winning scratch-off lottery ticket.

According to various news reports posted online, the ticket earned him a $300,000 jackpot prize.

The 52-year-old man told Michigan said he stopped to look at the lottery counter while at Hoffman Street Grocery.

“As I was standing there, the clerk suggested I play the Mystery Prize Cashword game,” the player said.

He told reporters in an interview that it took some convincing to get him to buy the ticket.
