A woman in Singapore visited a nearby food center and ate 10 bowls of curry noodles before the implementation of the dine-in ban in the country.

In a Lianhe Wanbao report, Jiang Ah Hua, 67, made sure she’s able to enjoy her favorite food before the full swing of stricter dine-in measures in the country.

Last July 20, the woman visited her go-to Tampine food center and ordered 10 bowls of curry noodles. Each small bowl is US$2.20, which already includes three pieces of potatoes, a chicken wing, and a few pieces of fish cakes.

Appreciating the loyalty of the customer, the owner of the noodle stall said: “If you can finish eating, I won’t charge you!”

Ms. Jiang didn’t disappoint the owner. The elderly ordered 10 bowls of curry noodles, whereas a young person usually ordered only up to four bowls. She managed to finish them all in 45 minutes.

Reports said the woman actually frequently visits the stall at least twice a week. However, the owner said this is the first time she ordered several noodle bowls.

“Granny may have aged and looked petite, but she can really eat,” the stall owner said.

Starting July 22, Singapore will implement stricter COVID-19 measures to curb the spread of the virus with the surge link to the new Delta variant.

Included in the restrictions is the no dining in and social gathering policy. Group interactions are also down to two, as well as requiring individuals to still wear masks indoors.
